A Path To Literacy

Libraries, parks and communities around the world have embarked on a fun, innovative way to engage patrons of all ages to read – while spending time outside. The Wellington Public Library will soon be joining that effort with our very own storybook trail.

Wellington City Council Meeting

- July 18th, 2023 During Audience Participation, Stacy Cotton from the Workforce Alliance and Stacy Davis, Executive Director of Sumner County Economic Development, addressed the Council together to speak about their partnership. Cotton encouraged job seekers and employers to contact her office regarding opportunities including the upcoming job fair at Memorial Auditorium scheduled for Tuesday, July 25th, 2 - 6pm.

Abbey Auditions To Stay, Pt. 3

With less than two weeks left to perform with the World Youth Wind Symphony at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Abbey Gill has auditioned with the hope of extending her stay. She has spent the last several weeks performing alongside some of the most talented young musicians in the world and playing for internationally renowned conductors.

It’s A Picnic

As is tradition, the Kansas Wheat Festival, (KWF) kicked off the public gatherings with Picnic in the Park. This year, the picnic was proudly sponsored by the Wellington Daily News! On Wednesday evening it was pretty steamy, but the green lawn of Seller’s Park was filled with people, lawn chairs, and pop-up tents.
