WHS FFA Visits DC

Three members of Wellington FFA had the opportunity to stand on the steps of the United States Capitol building and talk with Kansas legislators. They also toured some of the nation’s most famous monuments as part of their trip to the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in June. “We got to meet people from all over the United States,” said Kate Haines, Regional Sentinel and local WHS FFA Treasurer. “There were people from California, Montana and Idaho, just all over.”

A Sunflower Summer

Have you checked out the Sunflower Summer app yet? If not, I highly recommend it! As you may recall, Sunflower Summer is a program of the Kansas Department of Education, which provides free or reduced admittance for families to over 115 museums, zoos, historic landmarks and more. Venues include Botanica, Exploration Place, the Boot Hill Museum, the Cosmosphere, Field Station: Dinosaurs, Tanganyika Wildlife Park, Sedgwick County Zoo, Theatre in the Park - plus over 30 State Parks and lakes.
