Walker Headed To Nationals
Wellington alumni cross country runner Conner Walker qualified to compete at the NJCAA National Championship meet to be held at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA this week. Walker runs for Cowley College as a freshman.

Girls’ Golf Team Places 2nd At State
The Wellington girl’s golf team recently competed in the 4A Kansas State Golf Tournament and came back home with a 2nd Place trophy. The team placed just behind Topeka-Hayden which was the only team in the tournament to break 700.

Eight WHS Cross Country Runners Compete At State
Members of both of Wellington’s boys and girls cross country teams competed in the 4A KSHSAA state championships on a soggy, cold day in Wamego last Saturday. It was a muddy, miserable way for the runners to wrap up their season.

Senior Fall Athletes Honored
Last Friday night, prior to the football game, the 2024 seniors involved in fall activities were honored. The following senior athletes from football, girls’ tennis, cross country, cheer, dance, girls’ golf, and the marching band, along with their families, were recognized for their dedication and support.

Lady Crusader Cross Country Team Headed to State
The WHS girls’ cross country team finished in third place at the 4A Regional race held in Buhler. That result qualified the team to advance to the State meet this Saturday, November 2nd, at the Wamego Country Club.

Volleyball Season Ends at Sub-State
The Wellington Lady Crusader volleyball season came to a close last Saturday in Andale at the sub-state meet.

Senior Night Show In Wellington
Wellington’s football team put on a Senior Night Show that included a record breaking evening for quarterback Dusty Bannister. The Dukes dispatched El Dorado with ease in a tune-up game for the looming postseason.
