Wellington Heat pitcher and homegrown right-hander Keaton Hartman has signed with Allen County Community College. Hartman appeared in 13 games for the Heat this summer with a 3.77 ERA.

The Wellington High School Cross Country team is racing towards the beginning of the 2024 season. The boys took home the Ark-Valley Chisholm Trail League Championship a year ago.
Last week, the Salina Fieldhouse hosted the 90th Annual KSHSAA Coaching School where over 500 coaches from around the state gathered to discuss all aspects of coaching high school athletics. The new location allowed coaches to demonstrate their topics as the facility has multiple turf fields, three full size basketball courts with volleyball capabilities as well as hitting cages for baseball, softball and golf.
The Wellington Heat finished their season with a 5-2 record in the Summer Ball Showdown last weekend in Goddard. The event aimed to crown a National Champion for the largest adult, non-professional, premier summer baseball tournament in the nation, hosting 24 teams from five different states.

The Great Plains Swim League Championships were held on July 12th and 13th in Derby, KS. The Wellington Sailfish had 35 swimmers competing in the meet.

The Wellington Heat were upset by the Mulvane Patriots in the first round of the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball tournament last Friday night. As the higher seed, the Heat was the home team and this loss meant this game would be their final at Hibbs-Hooten for the season.
