In week three, the Wellington Heat started off with a victory over the Kansas Farmers. Wellington led 8-2 heading into the bottom of the 4th inning when their bats exploded. In the bottom of the 4th, they scored eight runs to blow the game open with a 16-2 lead.
Through three days of heat and two days of high winds, Deitrek Gill of Wellington was able to persevere through the 14th edition of The Railer: The Kansas Men’s Stroke Play Championships at Sand Creek Station.
The Sailfish were back in their home pool last week competing against El Dorado. With 41 swimmers participating, there were several outstanding performances, including District qualifying times from Caroline Mott in the 50 Meter Freestyle and Owen Camblin in the 50 Meter Freestyle and 100 Meter Backstroke.

The Sailfish had 43 swimmers in the water for their home meet against Valley Center last week. The weather cooperated for this event and the team also had the opportunity to reveal their new “Swimmer Hall of Fame” wall.
The Wellington Heat collegiate baseball team played four games last week and went 2-2. In the two losses, the team gave up at least seven runs and struggled to keep their opponent off the bases.
