
Four Softball Players Honored At Senior Night

In the final regular season doubleheader a talented Mulvane team managed to snap the Crusader’s 11 game winning streak in Game 1 on Senior Night. Wellington dropped the first game 13-1, but their bats bounced back to give the Dukes the win in Game 2 by a score of 6-0.
On May 4th, Alara Wilson participated in her last regular-season swim meet of 2024 with the Winfield Vikings at the Andover High School Girls Invitational. Emerging as the dominant team’s standout freshman, she contributed a notable 16 points to their victorious finish.
The Wellington boys golf team competed in the Eisenhower Invitational last Thursday. The Dukes finished eighth out of 10 teams with 355 team points.
The Wellington softball team split with El Dorado late last week in a league double header. The Lady Dukes picked up their sixth win this season with the victory.
For the fourth time in four years, #1 singles player Hunter Worley has qualified for the State Tennis Championships after competing in the 4A Regional last week in Winfield. The senior is only the second Crusader in WHS history to reach State all four years, joining Brock Edwards as the only other tennis player to accomplish the feat.
On May 1st, Wellington High School invited all of the 2023-2024 sport season athletes and their families to the gym for the annual All-Sports Banquet. Elly Johnson, WHS Athletic Director, commenced the evening with a warm welcome, setting the tone for the festivities.

The Wellington baseball team is on a eleven-game winning streak after defeating Clearwater twice at Riverfront Stadium in Wichita and following that up with a pair of wins against Buhler and Belle Plaine.
