Wellington High School freshman swimmer Alara Wilson recently earned a State consideration time in the 100 Freestyle event at the Campus High School Meet. Going into the race seeded 7th, Wilson delivered an outstanding performance, securing 6th place among 47 competitors.
Wellington Tennis was in action last week at El Dorado and Circle along with Augusta and Buhler. 1# Singles player Hunter Worley competing at Circle placed1 st and2# Singles player Maverick Peterson playing in El Dorado also finished in 1st place.
________. __ Wellington snapped a six game losing streak on the softball diamond against Buhler last week.
The Wellington High School Track Team competed in their home invitational last Friday at the Wellington Middle School. The possibility of severe weather did not stop the Crusaders from having one of their best outings this season.
The Wellington baseball team hosted Youth Night on Monday. Any child in a jersey was admitted free, got a free hot dog, and watched the Crusaders put on a show! It was a beautiful night for baseball and the Dukes dominated Belle Plaine in both games extending their winning streak to eleven straight victories.
The Wellington track and field team competed in Clearwater last Friday. The Crusaders had many top finishes throughout the day.
The Wellington softball team played in a triangular against McPherson and Southeast of Saline last week. The Lady Dukes lost Game 1 to Southeast of Saline 10-0.
The Wellington boys’ golf team competed at Sand Creek Station Golf Course last Thursday. The Dukes took only four golfers but were still able to finish eighth out of 10 schools.
The Wellington golfers competed in the Andover Central Invitational at Terradyne Country Club in Andover. The Dukes finished seventh out of 16 teams with a score of 339. “It was another highly competitive tournament,” said head coach James Ginter.” We had five kids shoot in the 80’s so we did alright.”
