Last Saturday, Wellington High School (WHS)Wilson Swims First High School Meet participated in her first high school swim meet at the Maize South Girls Invitational. This season, Wilson is the sole female swimmer competing from Wellington High School.
The Wellington softball team opened their season with a pair of losses at Rose Hill. In Game 1, the Lady Dukes took the early advantage with a 1-0 lead as Kyndal Rusk hit the first home run of the season in the top of the 3rd inning.
The Wellington golf team starts their season on April 1 with a tournament at Crestview Country Club. The Crusaders have 10 golfers on this year’s team, gaining four additional players over last year.

The Wellington baseball team opened their 2024 campaign on Monday, March 18th, with a scrimmage against Clearwater and Campus. The WHS bats showed up, pitchers threw a couple of innings and coaches worked on various base running situations.
Wellington enters a new era in softball today, March 2st, against Rose Hill as Hannah Shuck Lawlis takes the reins as head coach. It’s also her first game serving as a head softball coach at the high school level.
For the first time in the history of the program, the Wellington Lady Crusaders basketball team headed to the Kansas State Basketball Championship winning their semi-final game in an overtime thriller against McPherson in Salina.
As the Lady Crusader basketball team battled for the State title last Saturday in Salina, three members of the original 1973-74 Wellington High School girls basketball team proudly cheered them on from the bleachers.
Despite a jersey matching 33-point night from junior Val Norwood, and a valiant effort by all the Lady Crusaders, Bishop Miege won their 25th State Championship last Saturday night in Salina. “Val was the best player on the floor,” said Wellington head coach, Eric Adams.
