Helping lead the Cowley College baseball team to a 44-11 record and a top-10 national ranking in the final regular season poll, right-hander Barrett Morgan was recently selected in the 11th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox. Morgan was dominant in the closer role during the 2025 season, finishing with a 5-0 record, four saves, and an exceptional 0.42 ERA.

Wellington Middle Schooler Nyah Eckermann traveled to Springfield, Missouri last weekend to compete in the AAU Track & Field Region 16 Championship, held at JFK Stadium on the Parkview High School campus. The meet served as a qualifier for the prestigious AAU Junior Olympic Games.
