The Wellington Heat started off week three of their season with an 8-1 loss against the Derby Twins at home. Despite the loss, Associate Head Coach Ryan Jenkins spoke positively about the game and thought the guys played better overall compared to how they played in week two.
The Sailfish’s third meet of the season was a trimeet against the Derby Dolphins and the Haysville Piranhas at Rock River Rapids in Derby. Wellington brought some luck with avoiding storms to Derby, allowing the Dolphins to finally complete all their meet events for the first time this season.
The WarDogs are coming to Wellington next week to play the Wellington Heat and it’s a game not to be missed. “It’s going to be a really big night,” said Associate Head Coach Ryan Jenkins.

The Wellington Sailfish hosted their first home swim meet of the season on Tuesday, June 13th against the El Dorado Sea Dragons. This week, the Sailfish went into the meet with 42 of their 43 swimmers on deck and ready to race.
The Wellington High School Clay Target Team recently qualified and participated at the Kansas State High School Clay Target League 2023 State tournament. On June 17th, the local team traveled to the Kansas Trapshooting Association shooting facility in Sedgwick, KS to compete against 70 other schools and over 800 student athletes.
