The Lady Crusaders women’s golf team won their fourth tournament of the season. They placed first at the Circle Invitational winning by 19 shots and placing four golfers in the top five.

Wellington played in their third volleyball tournament of the season at the Red and Blue Classic in Cheney, Kansas. The Crusaders placed fifth overall at the tournament, with Freshman Kylan Gregory named to the all tournament team.

After a tough loss to Collegiate in week three, Wellington beat Labette County 52-34 in Altamont, Kansas. Senior running back and linebacker Malachi Rogers led his team with an impressive four first half touchdowns against Labette.

The WHS Women’s tennis team competed in a tournament last weekend that Head Coach Brian Aufdengarten considered “tougher than the Class 4A state tournament.” The Crusaders participated in the Tournament of Champions at Wichita Collegiate, facing class 6A and 5A teams, four 4A teams, two 3A teams and one team from Missouri. Women’s volleyball headed to Chaparral to compete in a regular season tournament. They took second place overall.

The Wellington High School football team was unable to generate any offense in the first half against Wichita Collegiate and the Crusaders lost to Collegiate 48-14 in week three. “Well we had a pretty rough first half honestly,” said WHS Head Coach Jeremiah Meeks.

After a hard loss in their home opener, the Wellington High School football team used their defense to solidify a win against Clearwater. When the clock ran out, the Crusaders had beaten Clearwater by a score of 49-18.
