New Volleyball Head Coach, Mandy Ramos, has full trust in her team. A Wellington High School volleyball alumni who graduated in 2006, Ramos played two years at Pratt Community College after high school.
After a sixth place finish at the Winfield Invitational, the Wellington High School Girls Volleyball team split at a triangular in El Dorado. “The girls played so well, they never gave up!,” said Head Coach Mandy Ramos.
Wellington High School opened their Cross Country season with a participation meet in Clearwater and the Crusaders took a slew of seniors and underclassmen. “Our cross country team did really well for their first meet,” Cross Country Head Coach, Jaedyn Ledesma Showman said.
It seemed the whole town of Wellington showed up for the WHS Friday night football season opener. The bleachers were filled and enthusiastic students lined the student section. Jeremiah Meeks was on the field, starting his first year as head coach for the Crusaders.
The Wellington High School football team started off their season with a scrimmage at historic Seller’s Park, home of the first high school football field to have lights west of the Mississippi River.
The Lady Crusaders started off their season last Wednesday playing in the Early Bird Tournament at Winfield High School. The Wellington High School volleyball program placed sixth at the tournament, losing their first three matches to Trinity (0-2), Augusta (1-2) and Buhler (0-2).
