The determined Wellington Sailfish team journeyed to neighboring Winfield for their last regular season meet, competing against the largest team in the Great Plains Swim League, the Winfield Seahorses. While the Seahorses only entered 95 swimmers, that was still more than double the number of Sailfish, 45, that participated in the meet.
The Heat celebrated the 4 of July with a special flag presentation from the local Wellington Noon Lions Club. The beautiful flag, measuring an expansive 20’ X 40’ feet, required 14 people to carry it onto the field.

The Wellington Sailfish dominated in the water against the Twin Rivers Club (TRC) Seahorses last week at their final home meet. With a team of only 12 Seahorses, TRC was no match for the 43 Sailfish, giving Wellington the win with a combined score of 423 to 49 (218 vs 19 for the girls, 205 to 30 for the boys).
