Wellington Police Department Awarded Federal Grant

Last week, Governor Laura Kelly, on behalf of the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (KCJCC), announced that the Wellington Police De - partment (WPD) has been awarded a 2025 grant from the Federal Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. e JAG program provides grants to local and state agencies to support initia - tives aimed at reducing and preventing crime, meeting equipment and technology needs, and delivering crime victim services. e Wel - lington Police Department will use its $154,966 grant to purchase 34 state-of-theart 800 frequency radios, enhancing communication and operational e)ciency.

Wind Project Construction Complete; Includes Advanced Turbine Technology
