Wellington Public Library Celebrates New Story Walk
The community gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the Wellington Public Library, where Board and staff members shared their excitement about the new Story Walk installation with the public.

Tie Dye Tapestry
The Wellington Recreation Commission hosted a Tie Dye Tapestry class for young artists last week. Prewashed fabric was provided, and participants selected patterns for their designs.

Water Production Maintenance Update
By Jason Newberry, Assistant City Manager for Utilities and Information Technology Beginning this week and continuing through August 23rd, the City of Wellington Water Production Department will be conducting a free chlorine burnout of the water distribution system. This process entails temporarily switching from chloramines to free chlorine to optimize the water quality of the distribution system.

Join In Celebrating The Summer Olympics Games
The Opening Ceremonies of the 2024 Summer Olympics Games of the XXXIII Olympiad will take place tomorrow, Friday July 26th. Paris, France is the host city, with events held in 17 other communities through August 11th.

Design Discoveries:
As an interior designer, I’ve always believed that true inspiration comes from immersing oneself in new experiences. Last month, I had the privilege of doing just that on an enlightening trip to Krakow, Poland, courtesy of Graff Plumbing.

Lifeguard of the Week:
Brylee Johnson, is a senior at WHS and in her second year as a lifeguard at the Wellington Family Aquatic Center. She decided to become a lifeguard because she had friends who worked as lifeguards and she thought it would be a fun summer job.

4-H Fair At Wheat Festival
The Sumner County 4-H Clubs held their 4-H Fair at the Raymond Frye Complex during last week’s Wheat Festival. Guests enjoyed a variety of 4-H exhibits and had the opportunity to purchase homemade items at the bake sale.

Information About The Upcoming Primary Election
The upcoming Primary Election will be held on August 6th, and only the Republican and Democratic Parties are participating. There are no questions on the ballots, only candidates.
