Wellington Fire Golf Classic Has Record Turnout

The 7th Annual Wellington Fire Golf Classic teed off last Saturday at the Wellington Golf Club, and despite a rainy start to the day, forty-five teams showed up ready to compete in the community’s largest scholarship golf tournament. The weather didn’t dampen spirits as golfers played through the drizzle, supporting a cause that benefits local students pursuing careers in public safety.

Walker Ready To Compete

Wellington High School alum and former cross country runner Connor Walker is beginning his sophomore season at Cowley College. For the second consecutive year, Walker will be competing as part of the Tigers cross country team which finished 11th in their regional meet last season.

Fireworks Light Up the Sky at Hargis

For the third consecutive summer, Wellington’s Independence Day fireworks show brought friends, families, and neighbors together at the Hargis Creek Watershed, transforming the landscape into a glowing backdrop of celebration on the evening of July 4th. As dusk settled over the city, hundreds of residents gathered around the water—some on lawn chairs and blankets, others sitting on truck beds or tailgates—ready to watch the sky come alive.
