MARILYN KAY GRATTIDGE

Marilyn Kay Grattidge passed away in the early evening of Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Wellington Health and Rehab at the age of 86. She was born in Colwich, Kansas on April 1, 1937, the daughter of James Douglas and Evang eline (Randolph) Southern. Marilyn attended the Wichita and Andover school systems, graduating in 1956 from Wichita West High School. She then went on to continue her education at Cowley County Community College. Marilyn married Virgil E. Grattidge in Wichita, Kansas on September 28, 1958. Through the years Marilyn worked and lived on many military bases including Bermuda and Italy. She had worked in the medical and legal fields before coming to Wellington in June of 1973. She then began her career as an Accredited Medical Record Tech at St. Lukes’s Hospital with the title of Utilization Review Coordinator for 21 years, retiring in 1998. Marilyn was a member of the Phoenix Chapter #159 in Wellington. She had also served as a St. Lukes Hospital Board of Trustee member, a past Matron of Phoenix Chapter #159, and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Winfield.
