James Joseph Horsch, 80, of Richmond, Texas passed away on July 24, 2023 at home surrounded by family. He was born on May 26, 1943 in Wellington, Kansas to Paul Peter Horsch and Marie (LaForge) Horsch.

Howard William Voigtlander, age 83 of Grenola, KS, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home. Howard was born August 18, 1939 in Winfield, KS to William and Marie (McClaskey) Voigtlander. His family moved to Grenola when Howard was a teenager, and it became home for the rest of his life. He grew up with one b r o t h e r, Henry and graduated from Grenola High School in the class of 1958. In 1973, Howard married Rosann Marie Wells. Together, they raised 3 children and were happily married for 45 years until her passing in 2019. Howard spent most of his time on the farm where he loved to be, but also liked to spend his free time going to auctions and going to Winfield a couple times a week just to visit with people. He loved to watch tractor shows on RFDTV and was a member of the K & O Steam and Gas Engine Association. Howards family was very important to him, and he enjoyed going to High School ball games to watch his kids. He enjoyed the atmosphere so much, he kept attending the games long after his kids had graduated and continued until his health wouldn’t let him go any more. Howard is survived by his children: Andy Voigtlander of Grenola, KS Bill Voigtlander of Grenola, KS Rita Voigtlander and spouse Marie Gorton of Winfield, KS Granddaughter, Angel Voigtlander He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosann, and brother Henry. Per Howards wishes, cremation has been requested. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Moline, KS. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 AM Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Chautauqua county. Blarney is a big goofy boy that loves everyone! He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 58 pounds. He is a large mixed breed, but we think he has some Basset Hound in the mix with his stumpy little legs! He was originally found as a stray with his brother and sadly no one claimed them. They came to our facility and his brother has already found a home. It’s Blarney’s turn! We are open Wednesday through Friday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. Alice L. Wyssman, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on July 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frances Shear (Archie) and Rex Friday (Margie); loving husband of 46 years, Melvin Wyssman; first husband of 12 years, Earl Gerbitz; brother Carl Friday; and granddaughter Chelsea Gerbitz. She is survived by sons, Danny and Robert Gerbitz; daugthers, Linda Chase (Mark) and Debbie McVey; siblings, Walter Friday, Irene Laughlin, Carol Vogel, and Peggy Hill; 8 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, and 1 on the way. A visitation was held Monday, July 10 from 12:00-2:00, followed by service at 2:00, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas. Graveside service followed at Greenwood Cemetery. DOB: May 25, 1940 DOD: July 4, 2023 Carolea Ann (Easterly) Rayl, fondly known as Susie, was born on the 25th of May, 1940, in Wellington, Kansas. Susie graced the world with her humble and spirited presence for 83 years. She departed this life on the 4th of July, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Susie was a woman of many talents and passions. After graduating from Wellington High School in 1958, her adventurous spirit led her to flight attendant school only to realize that her heart was truly back home. After briefly attending bartending school, she eventually found her true calling as a secretary in the IRS, where she served diligently for more than 20 years before retiring. Outside of work, Susie was an avid league bowler and league shuffleboard player. Her home was a testament to her love for windmills, decorated end to end with various representations of her favorite structure. Susie expressed her creativity through her love of crocheting and through her unique home decor. Her wit, kindness, and infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew her. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Gretta Easterly and her brother, Kenny Easterly and his wife Bobbie. Lana Kay (Pacey) Lee, 72, of Durant passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, July 3, 2023, after a year and a half battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 9, 1951, in Salina, Kansas to Dr. Keith Lyndon and Elsie Loraine (Young) Pacey. On May 28, 1972, Lana married her husband, Dr. Terry Lee, in Wellington, Kansas. Lana was a lifelong baseball fan, especially of the Chicago Cubs, and grew up keeping score for her brother’s baseball team. She also loved baton twirling and taking care of animals. Her love of the water was evident, as she was a certified lifeguard, taught swimming lessons, enjoyed waterskiing, and relished any chance to swim. Lana graduated from Wellington High School in 1969 and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1973. She went on to receive her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Kansas in 1974. Lana was a proud Jayhawk. Terry and Lana moved to Durant in 1980 where she was a speech pathologist for the public schools until her retirement in 2009. Lana was very involved in the community. She was founding president of the Durant Chapter of the Jaycee Jaynes, a board member for Sheltered Work Opportunities, a cub scout leader, a vacation bible school director, and taught Lamaze classes for expectant mothers. Every year since the inception of Colton’s Main Street Run, she baked thousands of muffins for the participants. Lana also proudly served for many years on the Three Valley Museum Board of Directors. Lana made lifelong friends with anyone she met. She loved surprising her friends and family with homemade meals and treats. Her gift for entertaining was most evident in her love of hosting family gatherings, and she always had plenty of popsicles for her grandkids while they swam at her pool. Her most important life’s work was her family. She is survived by her husband Dr. Terry Lee of Durant, Oklahoma, her sons Dr. Chris Lee and wife Tangee Lee of Enid, Okl
