EMS Course Draws a Crowd At Cowley

Last week on the Sumner Campus of Cowley College, top instructors provided a 2-day, “Difficult Airway Course: EMS” which is the nationally recognized standard for airway management education. Over 40 participants from Kansas, Oklahoma and New York successfully completed the comprehensive course, including providers from Sumner, Cowley, Butler, Sedgwick and Reno counties.

Shields Earns Nursing Degree

Sydney N. Shields of Wellington recently marked a joyous occasion surrounded by friends and family at the Spring 2024 Nurses Pinning Ceremony in El Dorado. Shields achieved a significant milestone earning both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from The University of Kansas (KU) and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Butler simultaneously.

From Crusader to Champion: Rutledge Inducted to the Crusader Wall of Recognition

Kim Rutledge, a distinguished graduate of Wellington High School’s Class of 1993, joined other esteemed alumni as she was inducted into the Crusader Wall of Recognition during last Wednesday’s Class Day events. Rutledge was born with a significant physical disability and this life experience has led her work as a nationally recognized leader in the disability community.

In a celebratory ceremony held at the WHS gym last week, Aubrey signed her agreement surrounded by her family, friends, and teammates. The event was a joyous occasion, symbolizing the culmination of Aubrey’s hard work and dedication to her sport.

I may have made this week slightly trickier than normal. This looks like a small stove, but it is made of ceramic, not iron. It doesn’t bake anything, but it does hold something you do bake - cookies! It’s a cookie jar.
