Mark your calendar for Sunday, December 1st 2024 to visit Memorial Auditorium from 10am to 4pm. for the 4th Annual Santa’s Helper’s Craft Bazaar.

Since 2016, Kennedy Elementary School has delighted students and families with its annual Glow Run celebration.

If you voted in person on November 5th, you may have noticed some fresh, young faces working alongside veteran volunteers at polling locations across Sumner County. During the recent election, 12 area high school students assisted at voting sites in Wellington, Belle Plaine, and Oxford.

Last week, local historian and Chisholm Trail Museum Director Jim Bales gave a hauntingly fascinating presentation titled “Forgotten History: The Ghost Towns of Sumner County” as part of Cowley College’s fall Golden Tiger program.

The Wellington Recreation Commission recently hosted a bottle art class led by Marcine Goodrum. Participants brought in bottles to “recycle” into unique pieces, such as appetizer trays, wall art, or spoon trivets.

On a warm, sunny day the 33rd Annual Sumner County Toy Run rolled into Wellington last Saturday, officially kicking off Operation Holiday, a local program providing gifts, clothing, and other essentials to Sumner County families in need.
