Myrtle Eileen (Schmatjen) Page, 93, of Osawatomie, Miami Co., passed away January 14, 2018, at the home of her son in Wellington.   
Eileen was born December 25, 1924, near Bershear, MO, to Henry Claus and Myrtle Priscilla (Hunter) Schmatjen.   She married Buler Clay Page on April 1, 1944.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband as well as two grandsons, two great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.   Her children are Joyce and Bobby Gene (deceased) King of Fort Smith, AR; Clyde and Donna Page of Wellington; Gail Montano of Oklahoma City; Della Prough of Oklahoma City; Roy and Patty Page of Independence, MO; and Brenda and Michael McManness of Lawrence, KS. She has 24 grandchildren (two are deceased), 58 great-grandchildren (two are deceased, 1 on the way), and 11 great-great-grandchildren (1 on the way). Her direct descendants number 101 souls.
Eileen loved her family and friends, having church families in Osawatomie;  Edmond, OK; Lees Summit, MO;  and Wellington. She was an exceptional seamstress, gardener, cook, and teacher.   She taught Sunday School for 66 years, and was a Foster Grandparent in the Paola, KS school system for 11 years. She proudly earned her GED at the age of 78.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 20th at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Calvary Fellowship Church 305 N. Jefferson, Wellington. Pastor Joe Crowley will officiate. Visitation will be Friday Jan. 19th at Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  . Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Osawatomie Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church, 212 E. Main Street, Osawatomie, with Pastor Osborn officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Grace to Ukraine. Contributions can be left with the funeral home.
