Neida Dunn, 67, Wellington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice with her family by her side in Wichita.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Wellington Baptist Temple in Wellington. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery in Parkerfield, KS. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home 704 N. Washington, Wellington. Neida Dunn was born January 26, 1951, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Roy) Bucher in Wichita. Neida graduated from the Arkansas City High School in 1969. On August 10, 1979 Neida was united in marriage to Larry Dunn. Neida was a waitress and a cook in Arkansas City until 1981. In October of 1981, Neida along with her husband Larry went to work for Motel 6. They were managers from 1981-1989. In 1989, they moved to Wellington where Neida worked at Futures Unlimited and was rapidly promoted to House Supervisor. She went to work for USD 353 in 1999 as a para at Lincoln Elementary. She was very proud of her job and loved the staff and friends she made and cared deeply about. Neida enjoyed working with the students and was very sad to leave her job when she became ill in 2015. She was an active member of the Wellington Baptist Temple. Neida enjoyed playing golf with Larry, playing card games and board games and especially loved her family. In the early 80’s they loved to travel with their children, visiting many fun places.
Neida is survived by her husband, Larry of Wellington; daughters: Teresa Dunn Baker of Fredericksburg, KS, Christy Lynn Page and husband Jeff of Andover, and Gina Marie Dunn of Wellington; son, Kyle Raymond Dunn of Chickasha, OK; brothers: Jon Bucher and his wife Susan of Searcy, AR, Samuel Bucher and his wife Jane of Haviland, Danny Bucher of Wichita, and James Bucher of Arkansas City; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Karen Annette Dunn, a brother, Duane Bucher, sister, Marguerite “Susie” Grimes, and a nephew, Jon Aric Bucher.
