Wichita, KS (July 10, 2018) - The Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas is hosting the Fair Chance Job Fair on July 12th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wichita Workforce Center. This is an opportunity for employers to make connections with job seekers that have a criminal background but also have skills and need a chance to get their lives turned around.

“With the unemployment rate at an all-time low, there is a need for employers to tap into an alternative labor pool to meet business demands,” says Keith Lawing, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Workforce Alliance. “There are people with skillsets that employers are looking for who just need a second chance.”

Although the Workforce Centers have partnered with organizations in the community to host second chance job fairs, this is the first time the Workforce Centers have sponsored an event specifically targeting ex-offenders.

Multiple employers will be on-site including:

  American Directions

  AmeriCorps VISTA

  BurgerFi

  Creekstone Farms
