Performing its first concert of the season, the Cowley College Jazz Band and Concert Band thrilled audience members with a concert, titled “Fear”, Sunday, October 21 in the Robert Brown Theatre.

The jazz band presented a program of mainstream tunes written for the jazz ensemble, while the program for the concert band consisted of works that inspire fear with inspirations from snakes, ghosts, witches, and fear itself.

Cowley College director of instrumental music Evan Ricker said the students worked hard over the past several weeks to prepare for their initial concert of the season.

“This concert featured some new and challenging musical ideas that some of our students might not have been exposed too before,” Ricker said. “They worked hard to rise to the challenge and the work showed in their performance.”
