C. Andrew Hemmingsen, 53, ever the optimist even to the end.
Born November 7, 1965 in Wichita to Chris Hemmingsen and Leila (Gass) Hemmingsen, he attended school in Wellington, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1989. He attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina and moved to New Mexico for a number of years before returning to Kansas. He joined the army in 2005 where he received training as a medic. He returned to New Mexico where he worked as a medic in the television and film industry on such films as Transformers, Maze Runner and Sicario and many seasons of Breaking Bad.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Hemmingsen, and his mother, Leila (Gass) Hemmingsen. He is survived by his sister Heidi (Hemmingsen) Nelson (Jay Nelson) of Casper, WY, his nieces Alexandra (Nelson) Young (Chris Young) of Topeka, KS, Samantha (Nelson) Paschke (Michael Paschke) of Casper, WY; his nephew Chris Nelson of Lawrence, KS and his great nephews and nieces, Hunter Paschke, Lorelai Young, Hendricks Young, Briley Paschke, Theodore Young and Adalene Paschke.
There will be no funeral or memorial services per Andrew's request. Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Hilltop National Bank in Casper, WY, care of Heidi Nelson. Memorial funds will benefit the Safety for Sarah movement and the Sarah Jones Film Foundation.
