Glenda Joe (O'Quinn) Zabel, 80, fought a courageous battle with cancer for several years and on Sunday, February 17, 2019 she passed away peacefully from this life.  Glenda was born the daughter of Charlie and Lorene (McDonald) O'Quinn on Friday, July 8, 1938 in Yelm, Washington. Her family moved to Valley Center, in her youth. She attended Valley Center High School and graduated with the Class of 1956.  On February 7, 1956, Glenda and Dwayne Zabel were united in marriage and recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary. She worked in accounting at several places over the years. Outside of work, Glenda enjoyed traveling, bowling, painting and spending time with family and friends. She was particularly good at bowling and was the PBA Senior National Champion in May of 1999.  Survivors include her husband, Dwayne Zabel; brother, Richard O'Quinn of Missouri; son, Terry Zabel of Derby, Kansas; daughter, Connie Zabel of Wichita; son, Craig Zabel of Peck, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lorene O'Quinn. Memorial service for Glenda will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2019 in the chapel of Cornejo|Day Funeral Home, Wellington. The Reverend Debra Schmidt will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her loving memory to the Good Shepherd Hospice.
