Facing arch rival Seminole State College Monday in Edmond, OK, the Cowley College baseball team had its three-game winning streak snapped with an 11-4 defeat.

The Trojans scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning and four more in the fourth to break open a tie game and cruise to the victory.

Cowley used seven pitchers and were out-hit 14-3 in the defeat. The loss drops the Tigers’ record to 12-6 on the season, while Seminole State improves to 15-4.

Andrew Roach started on the mound for Cowley and left after two innings with the game tied 1-1. Tiger reliever Kaid Karnes (0-1) allowed the four runs in the third inning and Reid Frase was tagged with the four runs in the fourth.

Tiger pitchers Jared Wilson, Grant Wilson, and Jack Carneal were bright spots as they each tossed a scoreless inning of relief.

Seminole’s Zach Dill kept the Tiger hitters off balance and allowed only one hit and one run in five innings pitched. Dill struck out six and walked one to improve his record to 1-0.

Batting out of the leadoff spot for the Tigers, freshman leftfielder Isaac Muncy went 1-for-3 with a two-run single.

Batting in the three and four-hole for the Trojans, Brayden Rodden and Archer Brookman combined to go 6-of-9 with five runs scored.

The Tigers will return to action when they face the Oklahoma Wesleyan University JV in a doubleheader Thursday at 1 p.m. in Bartlesville, OK.
