The Wellington Humane Society had a very successful event at Orscheln Farm and Supply in Wellington last Saturday morning. According to Humane Society Director Chelsea Nickell, “We microchipped 30 dogs and 2 cats in addition to the nail trims and painting, plus we featured our new gourmet dog treats from Claudia's Canine Bakery for donations! The event brought in over $1200 between Microchipping, trims, painting, and donations!”
There were also specialty treats on hand that sold very well.
Chelsea added, “Our next event is Saturday April 6, Fill the Truck at Wal-Mart. Then we will be at the Belle Plaine Tulip Festival the next weekend.”
In regards to doing more microchip events, she said, “We will definitely be doing them more frequently, especially once we get into the new building.”
The new building for the Wellington Humane Society is set for completion later this spring.
