A Wellington woman and her two children are grieving after the death a beloved husband and father. Recently, he had secured employment that promised financial security for the family, but with that no longer being a reality and his widow being on disability, the family does not know how they will make it.

Kyle Janzen died suddenly and unexpectedly. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise $3,000 to help the struggling family. The web address is gf.me/u/vvkyiw.

Valerie Cagle, who launched the page, wrote on it about Kyle, his wife, Zoie Hutton and their daughter, Fennix, and son, Lyrikk, and Cagle’s impressions of them. They had booked a session with Cagle, a photographer, to take family pictures. She wrote about how patient the parents were with the children.

She described Kyle as “a gentle spirit, a truly kind soul.” Later, Cagle learned Kyle was fighting the biggest battle of his life against addiction.

“When I came to learn these things, I was amazed that none of the challenges he faced, either as a child, or as an adult facing the terrors of addiction, turned him harsh or mean or cynical.” Cagle wrote. “Kyle and Zoie are truly some of the kindest people you could ever meet.”

Zoie said, “He was the best dad in the world.”

Fenixx is 6-years-old and Lyrikk is 3. “They’re depressed,” Zoie said. “Everyone keeps telling me kids don’t get it. They do.”

Services for Kyle will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Clearwater Church of Christ.
