Wellington’s Fourth annual Christmas Around the Town Home Tour will give people a chance to feel festive while giving to those in need.

The toast and tour will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Drinks and food will be served. The tour homes and their owners are:

Jamie and Lisa Allton, 353 S. Hoover Rd.

Jeff and Cassity Brungardt, 723 W. 22nd St.

Dale and Lana Coffin, 707 W. 22nd St.

Preston and Stephanie Frazier, 1822 Edgewood Dr.

Scott and Tiffany Linker, 137 E. 30th St. S.

There will be a mixture of older homes on the tour along with newly built and remodeled housing, Michelle Wellington, one of the volunteers putting the event together, said.

“It’s always fun to see how other people decorate,” she said.

Tickets to the tour can be purchased at State Farm Insurance, 116 W. Lincoln, or Shelter Insurance, 201 N. Washington. The event is being sponsored by the Social Sisterhood of Wellington.

The traditional home tour will take place  from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Tickets will be cheaper and there will not be drinks served.

“This is our major fundraiser,” Michelle Wellington, a member of the sisterhood said. “All the money goes back to the community. We don’t keep any of it.”

The money will stay in Sumner County and go to such things as adopting families going through hardships and providing presents to needy children and giving snacks to teachers to use as birthday snacks for children whose families cannot afford snacks.

“We’ve already given $1,000 to Operation Holiday,” Wellington said. “This is a good way to support a local organization that gives back to kids in the community.”
