Larry Heter passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 69. He was born on January 27, 1951 in Wellington, Kansas to Duane "Bo" and Wanda (Kile) Heter. On August 19, 1988, Larry and Ellen Mack were united in marriage in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Larry was a bartender for many years. He then worked at GEC/Midwest, Elkhorn Valley Processing and then retired from Farmers Co-Op in 2017. Larry was the Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Tom Schwinn Post 90 and a member of the VFW. In his free time, Larry looked forward to hunting and fishing. Larry loved to make people smile and laugh. His distinctive laugh will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Heter of Wellington, Kansas; daughter Fracia Bontempo (Mark) of Fresno, California; daughter, Mandi Santana (Harry) of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Kimmi Yarbrough (Mark) of Dumas, Texas; daughter, Becky Ayers (Megan) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Dennis Heter (Linda) of Rogers, Arkansas; sister, Linda Prochaska (Paul) of Caldwell, Kansas and his granddaughters: Lizzy and Ava Santana of Wellington, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane "Bo" and Wanda Heter.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to the Sons of the American Legion. Contributions can be mailed or left at the funeral home.
