Ronald R. Dierksen

Belle Plaine - Dierksen, Ronald R., 86, Belle Plaine, Kansas, died Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home.

He was born on January 18, 1935, and raised near Meno, Oklahoma, the son of Fred and Rosa (Hackney) Dierksen. He resided in Belle Plaine, Kansas, since 1965. A graduate of Lahoma High School and Okmulgee Technical School where he majored in diesel mechanics. Ronald served in the United States Army for 2 years, from 1954 to 1956. He worked for Bond Bakery, Boeing, Massey Ferguson and settled at the United States Post Office, in Wichita, where he retired after more than 22 years.

He was a member of the Belle Plaine United Methodist Church, Past President of Belle Plaine Dragons Booster Club, former instructor for 4-H tractor safety course, and a noted mechanic, welder, and collector of iron and fasteners.

On May 29, 1959, he married Alice Ruth Buckminster, in Lahoma, Oklahoma, at the preacher's home of the United Church of Lahoma.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice, of the home; son, Fred (Susan) Dierksen, of Dodge City, Kansas; five grandchildren, Randi (Derek) Brenner, of Colwich, Kansas, Gabriel (Lori) Dierksen, of LaCrosse, Kansas, Hannah Dierksen, of Dodge City, Kansas, Emily Dierksen, of Dodge City, Kansas, and Jedidiah (Darien) Dierksen, of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great-grandchild, Hattie Ione Dierksen, of LaCrosse, Kansas; niece, Cindy Scott Winters; and nephew, Troy Don Scott.

He is preceded in death by a son, Edward Ray Dierksen; his parents; and a sister, Margie Dierksen Scott.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037.

Funeral service is Monday, October 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Belle Plaine United Methodist Church, 124 E. 10th Ave., Belle Plaine, Kansas 67013.
