Marcellus Lawrence Korte

Wellington - Marcellus Lawrence Korte, 70, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.

Marcellus was born in Mt. Hope, KS September 27, 1951 the son of Bernard and Gertrude (Hermes) Korte. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1971. Marcellus was united in marriage to Rhonda White on November 28, 1981 in Oxford, KS, the couple later divorced. Marcellus was a hard worker and was a self-employed contractor and roofer for 25 years, he enjoyed collecting coins, cutting firewood and attending Wellington sporting events.

He is survived by his children Andy Korte, and Aaron (Danielle) Korte, grandchildren: Jordan and Landon Korte, brother Frank Korte, and sister Mary Lou Duran. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Virgil, Leander, and Melvin Korte.

Cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of the Oxford Funeral Service.
