Marilyn S. Hyten

Wichita - Marilyn S. Hyten was born July 17, 1936 to Frank and Marguerite (Knotts) Soden in Lawrence, Kansas. Marilyn departed this life peacefully on November 19, 2021 at Regent Park, Wichita, Kansas.

She grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1954. Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald R. Hyten on November 29, 1985. They celebrated 28 years of marriage until Don's death on February 9, 2014.

Marilyn had worked at the Wellington Daily News, First Federal Savings and Loan and was a small business owner of Young World, a children's clothing boutique, all in Wellington, Kansas. She was an excellent seamstress and gardener, and also enjoyed reading.

Marilyn is survived by her two daughters; Lori Page and husband Mike, Nappanee, Indiana and Sherri Newlin and husband Tod, Wichita, Kansas, six grandchildren; Cole Page and wife Hannah, Pierceton, Indiana, Allison Weinmann and husband Brady, Noblesville, Indiana, Ellie Newlin and fiancé Jaron Ludwig, Kansas City, Missouri, Maggie Newlin, Kansas City, Missouri, Rachel Page, Kansas City, Missouri and Jacob Newlin, Wichita, Kansas, three great-grandchildren; Kennedy Weinmann, Auden Page and Sophie Weinmann.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Thomas of Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Lane, Wichita, Kansas. A private interment will follow. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
