Jeanette M. Conner died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at her home in Houston, Texas. She was born, Aug. 23, 1943 in Wellington, Kansas, to Homer W. and Helen A. (Trekell) Thomas. Jeanette married Robert Lane Conner on November 25, 1978 in Houston, Texas.
Jeanette loved learning and she graduated from Wellington High School. She also graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Mathematics. Then, she received her M.B.A. from the University of Houston. She worked as an expert in system analysis and design for most of her career in the oil industry.
She was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church where she helped with activities and attended Bible studies and where she learned to love God’s word. She was a seamstress who did beautiful work. Jeanette, along with her sister Bernice, was an avid genealogist for her family. Many hours were spent researching long lost family history, much to the enjoyment of the two sisters and their brother.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Bob Conner of Houston, Texas; brother, Lloyd E. Thomas of Wellington, Kansas; and sister, Bernice Thompson of Sterling, Kansas. She also has a sister-in-law, Jeannine Cassell of Mooresville, North Carolina; Jeanette also had six nephews and one niece.
Cremation has taken place. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 virus, there will be no service. However, Jeanette will always be remembered for her bright smile and intelligent mind. She will be buried in the Washington Cemetery, Washington, Pennsylvania near her husband’s parents.
A memorial has been established with Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77024.
