Ole “O.H.” Holverson

Ole “O.H.” Holverson passed away at the age of 97, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Homestead Assisted Living in Wellington, Kansas. He was born in Cedar Vale, Kansas on July 12, 1924 the son of George and Adelaide (Groene) Holverson. Ole grew up in Cedar Vale, graduating from High School in 1942. In 1944 Ole relocated to Wellington to start his career working for the Santa Fe Railroad as a brakeman and switchman. He retired in 1986, after 42 years of employment. He served one term as a board member at Panhandle Federal Credit Union. Ole was a hard worker. For years he held 3 jobs. No matter what, he always made himself available and was willing to lend a hand when needed. Ole was a well organized person and will be remembered for being neat and tidy. He is survived by his son, Robert Holverson and his wife Diana of Claremore, Oklahoma; son, Brad Holverson and wife Maria of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Rhenda

Leith and husband John of Grove, Oklahoma; daughter, Cindy McMullin and husband Jim of Wellington, Kansas; daughter in law, Vickie Holverson of Manhattan, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Alice

Fox. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Adelaide Holverson; son, Richard Holverson; sister, Lorraine Donahue; and great-grandsons, Garrett Schmitz and Nolan Holverson. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, Kansas A memorial has been established in his name and loving memory with Good Shepherd Hospice, 505 E. 16th Street, Suite 1, Wellington, Kansas 67152.
