Patricia E. Frost, age 82, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Wellington Health and Rehab. Pat was born on April 27, 1941, in Wichita, KS to Orville Eugene Barry and Beatrice (Tennant) Barry. She was raised in Wellington, KS, and was a graduate of Wellington High School in the Class of 1959. She married Jimmie R. Frost on September 27, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington. Through the years, Pat worked as a clerk for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and at Panhandle Federal Credit Union. She was very artistic and her many hobbies included ceramics, sewing, quilting, painting, and other arts and crafts over the years. Pat also enjoyed volunteering as a “Pink Lady” at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Throughout their marriage, Pat and Jimmie enjoyed many travel and outdoor activities with their family and friends including camping, fishing, and cooking out. Family was very important to Pat, and her greatest gift was being a loving wife, mother, and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially liked spending time with her family on holidays and attending all of their various activities. After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed being “winter Texans” for 15 years traveling annually with a group of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Heasty. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Jimmie Frost of Wellington; daughter, Kim and Steve Janney of Wellington, KS; son, Scott and Eve Frost of Katy, TX; and son, Shawn Frost and Barbara Patton of Wellington, KS; sister Shirley and Allen Weber of Wellington, KS; eight grandchildren, Kayla Janney, Nicholas and Paige Janney, Steven and Sarah Frost, Cheyenne Frost and Tristan Langley, Charlie, and Jackson Frost, Christopher and Joshua Frost; seven greatgrandchildren, Cohen and Hayden Janney, Emery, Jayce, Elena and Jax Frost, and Lillian Langley. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Wellington Methodist Church, followed by a private family internment. Pastor Isaac Chua officiated the service. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 2nd from 5-7 pm. Memorials have been established with Wellington EMS and Wellington Interim Homecare and Hospice In lieu of flowers.
