Two stores will be holding their grand opening on Saturday, May 22 in Wellington
WELLINGTON, Kansas – Two stores will be holding their grand opening on Saturday, May 22 in Wellington. Bay & Brielle Co. will be located at 207 S. Washington from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 Sisters Mercantile will be located at 111 East Harvey from noon to 6 p.m.
Bay & Brielle Co. is a women’s clothing, home decor and gift boutique store. 5 Sisters Mercantile is a store that offers new handmade, gently used, vintage clothing and home items. They are a collection of imported, local merchants and artists.
Mercantile profits support local merchants and the operations of Family Tree Resource Center Inc.
“Having a store has always been a dream of mine,” said 5 Sisters Mercantile owner Amanda Feiock. “It’s also been a dream of mine to work along with a non-profit like the Family Tree Resource Center. It made sense to me to combine the two together.”
Bay & Brielle Co. is owned by Karissa Richmond and her sister-in-law Jessica Ricke. The Richmond family was born and raised in Wellington, but they experienced the tragic loss of Karissa’s brother, Adam.
“As cliché as this sounds – tomorrow is not promised to any of us,” said Richmond. “With the sudden loss of my brother, it gave me a push to go after my dreams today.”
Richmond hopes that their family-owned boutique can bring a fun atmosphere and help downtown Wellington flourish. Also, they hope this store can give people the opportunity to grab gifts or new outfits without having to Wichita.
It is likewise for Feiock and her store. 5 Sisters Mercantile hopes to bring a safe and fun atmosphere so families can enjoy it.
There will also be activities involved in the two grand openings. Bay & Brielle Co. will include a drawing for gift cards and specials, while 5 Sisters Mercantile will have a food truck from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. by Devour Food Truck.
