On May 10th, Carolyn Kelley resigned from the Wellington Library Board. Exactly one month later, on June 10th, the City of Wellington has appointed Victoria Barton to fill the position for the remainder of the term.

Wellington will need action from Mayor Jim Valentine and the Council Members to make it official. The term for Barton would expire on April 30, 2023.

Barton is a retired school teacher for USD 353 and is currently a member of the St. Anthony's Altar Society. She received her Master's degree at Wichita State University in the field of Education.

She has been a resident of Wellington for 67 years and has the goal to contribute and work with new ideas to build and continue the success of the library.

The other candidate for the Library Board was Betty Patrick.
