Wellington Public Library hosting an Edible Book Contest during the Kansas Wheat Festival

The Wellington Public Library will be hosting an edible book contest during the 2021 Kansas Wheat Festival on Thursday, July 8th.

The contest is open to all ages, families and groups but will have a $5 entry fee payable to the Wellington Public Library. Entries can be made of anything edible and can be dropped off at the Library on July 8th between 9:30-10:30 a.m.

There will be four categories: family project, ages 1-10, age 11-8 and age 19+. The public viewing and voting will take place between noon and 8 p.m. Entries should include a copy or photo of the book depicted.

The 121st Kansas Wheat Festival will take place in Wellington from July 6-10th.

Winners will be announced on Friday, July 9th at 10 a.m. and prizes awarded. You need to be present to win. In the entry form, it will ask if you would like to pick up your entry on Friday between 2-4 p.m. or if the library can dispose of it.
