Wellington's Susan Doherty placed ninth in Kansas Photographer of the Year by the KPPA
Wellington photographer Susan Doherty at Susan's Portrait Designs has been named a top-10 Kansas Photographer of the Year by the Kansas Professional Photographers Association (KPPA).
There were 21 entries and Doherty placed ninth with a case score of 322. She submitted four entries: Bashful, My 3 Sons, Ready to Serve and Hey, That's My Ear.
"This was exciting," said Doherty. "This was our first convention since COVID-19, so it was nice to get back, be able to compete and see my colleagues."
The KPPA's goal is to advance photography in all its branches and to promote good fellowship and educational advancement among the photographs of the State of Kansas and the surrounding territory and as a profession, to oppose violations and infringements of the rights of professional photographers.
In the photography contest, the KPPA recognizes and honors people who have worked hard for the association without consideration of the sacrifices incurred.
Doherty has made a living off being a photographer and continues to enjoy it. On Thursday, June 17, she celebrated 25 years in business.
