On July 8, 2021, at 3:25 p.m., Sumner County sheriff deputies were dispatched to investigate an unknown accident at the intersection of US 160 Highway and Oliver Road.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a maroon Chevy Tahoe resting in the east ditch near the southeast corner of the intersection. Resting in the field approximately 30 yards southeast of the intersection was a silver Jeep Renegade.

The preliminary investigation revealed the Tahoe, operated by Markus Washington, (Fort Worth, Texas) was traveling southbound on Oliver road approaching US 160 Highway.

Bodkins and her passenger, Donald O’Neil, along with a service dog died at the scene from their injuries.

Both vehicles were a total loss. The investigation is continuing.
