Stop! Lighted Stop sign a reminder for inattentive motorists.

The stop sign that is currently located on westbound Botkin Street at South Washington Avenue will be relocated to southbound Washington Avenue so that the Washington Avenue traffic will be required to stop at that intersection.

The Botkin Street traffic will be “free-flowing” in both directions and will not be required to stop following this change. The Street Department will change the sign location the morning of Friday, July 30.

Signage indicating “stop ahead” will be installed approximately 200 feet north of the stop sign on Washington Avenue to give drivers advanced warning of the required stop.

Wellington is asking people to please use caution driving in this area in the future.
