Wellington's outfielder and pitcher, Rylan Biles, has been chosen as the Sumner County Community Drug Action Team (SCCDAT) Athlete of the Month for June.

SCCDAT helps to prevent and decrease drugs in the community. They want to engage communities, families and the youth in partnership, empower the youth to make good decisions and educate community members about prevention, awareness and programs.

It was a tough season for the Crusaders and for Biles. Earlier in the season, Biles broke both bones in his right arm while driving to make a diving catch. This would sidelines Biles for six weeks.

After healing from his injury and receiving intense physical therapy, Biles came back for the Crusaders' final game of the season. Biles hopes to be cleared for full activities soon, especially for the summer and fall months when he played for the Derby Grizz.

After the season ended, the Wellignton baseball team voted Biles the winner of the Crusaders Best Teammate Award. Outside of baseball, Biles helps out with your baseball in Wellington.

Biles will be heading into his senior year at Wellington High School and will be playing his final season for the Crusaders. He plans on playing collegiate baseball after Wellington. In the meantime, he has made a decision on where to play.
