The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Sumner County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 2 a.m., Saturday, June 12th for Sumner County. 

The watch is valid for nine other counties: Cowley, Harvey, Sedgwick, Chautauqua, Elk, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho and Wilson. 

Cities include Arkansas City, Bel Aire, Cedar Vale, Chanute, Coffeyville, Derby, Fredonia, Grenola, Haysville, Howard, Independence, Longton, Moline, Neodesha, Newton, Park City, Parsons, Sedan, Valley Center, Wellington, Wichita and Winfield

Threat information includes scattered hail up to possible lime size hail, scattered gusts up to 80 mph and frequent lightning.
