Strides Walk Promotes Diabetes Awareness During Fall Festival
The Wellington Lions Club hosted its seventh annual Strides Walk for Diabetes Awareness on Saturday morning as part of the Fall Festival festivities. This year’s event drew 30 participants—the largest turnout yet—for a morning of fun, fellowship, and health education.
The walk focused on raising awareness rather than funds, offering free blood sugar testing courtesy of the Sumner County Health Department, along with educational materials and 16 informational signs displayed along the route. Participants also enjoyed prize drawings thanks to generous donations from local businesses and organizations.
Organizers expressed appreciation to all who took part and helped make the event a success. The Lions Club continues to promote diabetes education and healthy living as part of its community service efforts.
