Crusaders Beat Augusta

The Wellington boys basketball team found a way to win a gritty, gutsy battle against Augusta Tuesday night led by Nolan Russell who put up 17 of the Crusader’s 48 points. “Nolan has the ability to take a game over with his size and ability to shoot,” said boys basketball head coach Joe Newman.

WHS Falls At Collegiate

The Wellington boys basketball team competed hard but were over matched and overwhelmed by Wichita Collegiate last week in their first game back from Christmas break. The Spartans jumped out to a 6-2 lead as their full court press challenged the Crusaders.

WHS Girls Top Andale

The Wellington girls’ basketball team bested Andale even with an ugly second half to improve to an undefeated AVCTL league record at 5-0 in league play. The Lady Crusaders started the game doing what they do and jumped out to a 15-0 lead on the Lady Indians, forcing an Andale timeout.
