On June 21, 2022, Willis Olen Hull Jr, ascended into heaven at the age of 80.
Olen, as most knew him, also known as Junior by his family, was was born in San Bernardino, California to Willis Olen Hull Sr. and Lois (Hooten) Hull on November 3, 1941. Not long after birth, Olen and family moved back to Wellington, Kansas and was raised there until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1959.
While training at Amarillo Air Force Base in Amarillo, Texas he married Katheryn Ellis in the base chapel in 1960, and then was stationed at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Delaware as a flightline crew chief until 1963. After completing Air Force duty, Olen, Katheryn and eldest son Floyd, born in 1961, moved back to Kansas, where Michael was born in 1963.
After relocating back to Kansas, Olen pursued a career in aviation working as a mechanic for a short time and then becoming a pilot. As a consummate professional pilot, he amassed over 22,000 flight hours, spanning 42 years with companies in Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
After retiring in 2007, Olen did some RV traveling and then decided to make Brownsville, Texas his new home. After losing Katheryn, his wife of 55 years in 2015, he married Diane Protho in Brownsville, Tx.
He was an avid and active golfer as well as a meticulous craftsman rebuilder, remodeler, mechanic and fixer of almost everything he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two younger brothers, Terry Hull, Dennis Hull and wife Katheryn.
Survived by his wife of six years Diane Hull, two sons, Floyd (wife Regina), Michael (wife Regena), one sister, Sharon Gilliland, two grandsons Austin Hull, Dylan Hull, numerous nieces and nephews and his loving little girl dog Molly.
