How do you define "fun"? Is it going to a movie, working out or heading out on the town? While "fun" is a pretty relative term, personal finance website WalletHub tried to nail down a definition of what makes a place fun and ranked all 50 states based on their "fun-ness," if you will.

Here are the top 10 most fun states in the U.S., according to WalletHub.

California  Florida New York Washington  Colorado Nevada Minnesota Pennsylvania  Oregon Texas

The site looked at each state's accessibility to affordable activities like national parks and movie theaters, nightlife, and entertainment and recreation to compile the full list.

California, the most fun state in the country, topped the lists for most restaurants, most movie theaters, most fitness centers and most performing arts theaters per capita.
