Congress designated September 11, Patriot Day, as a national day of remembrance in 2001. Although not a federal holiday, it’s a day set aside to honor and remember the victims and heroes of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania.

Among the crowds were Wellington High School FFA students, who not only joined the festivities but also brought home an impressive collection of honors.

Dukes Beat Collegiate In Season Opener
For the first time in seven years, the Wellington Crusaders took the football field against the Wichita Collegiate Spartans and came away victorious. The 32-13 win is also the squad’s first victory in the season opener since 2018.
